Intro to Lithium Battery Building

Learn to design, spot-weld, and protect custom lithium-ion batteries.

Participants assemble individual 18650 lithium ion cells into a single battery pack into a power bank controller which doubles as a BMS. The assembly is then put into a 3D-printed enclosure.

Prior electronics experience is not required, and all tools and materials will be provided.

Lithium ion batteries are dangerous if poorly constructed or improperly handled. This course will focus on safety at every step of the process. Constructed batteries will be inspected and tested before participants may take them home.
